QSL sees Australia's 2013/14 sugar exports at 3 mln T, below govt view


SINGAPORE: Australia's biggest exporter of raw sugar, Queensland Sugar Ltd (QSL), expects the country to ship 3 million tonnes in the season to June 2014, a company official said, about 7 percent below government estimates.

The Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) has forecast 2013/14 exports at 3.24 million tonnes, up from 2.996 million tonnes a year earlier. Australia is the world's third-largest raw sugar exporter.
