OCBC Al-Amin to open fifth Xpres branch in June

KUALA LUMPUR: OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd, the Islamic arm of OCBC Bank (M) Bhd, plans to open its fifth OCBC Al-Amin Xpres branch at the Ampang Park LRT station in June.

The bank opened its flagship branch at Masjid Jamek LRT station on Thursday.

OCBC Al-Amin Xpres is the only standalone Islamic banking branch in Malaysia that operates seven days a week from 10am to 10pm.

OCBC Al-Amin director and chief executive officer Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechick said the bank aims to further engage its young adult customers through the self-service platform, which enables customers to perform banking transactions themselves.

He added the bank hoped to open another 10 such branches in 12 months, pending the approval from Bank Negara Malaysia.

The branches are equipped with ATMs, cash deposit machines, and EPF kiosks among others. Also available are its Islamic home financing, personal financing, current account and takaful products.
