Hong Leong Bank's Yvonne Chia to retire on June 30

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Bank Bhd announced that Datuk Yvonne Chia, its group managing director and chief executive officer will retire with effect from June 30, 2013.

The president of Hong Leong Financial Group (HLFG), Raymond Choong said on Friday:

"The Board of Directors is truly appreciative of Datuk Yvonne's leadership with this organisation for more than 10 years. Datuk Yvonne has led the transformation and growth of HLBB into one of the most successful banks in the financial industry.

"She has guided Hong Leong Bank through an incredible period of change and growth and has done so with utmost integrity and a sharp focus on creating value for our customers, shareholders and employees."

In announcing her decision, Chia said: "I believe Hong Leong Bank is the finest bank in the region. It has been a privilege to lead this wonderful organization through both the best and challenging times for our industry."

The appointment of Chia's successor will be announced in due course.
