Scomi up in active trade on RM2.1b Petronas Carigali job

KUALA LUMPUR: Scomi Group Bhd's share price rose in active trade on Friday after its subsidiary secured a RM2.1bil contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

At 9.45am, it was up 2.5 sen or 7.5% to 35.5 sen. It was actively traded with 12.90 million shares done.

The FBM KLCI was up 1.56 points to 1,652.49. Turnover was 113.17 million shares valued at RM111.48mil. There were 170 gainers, 98 losers and 183 counters unchanged.

The contract was awarded to it subsidiary Scomi KMC Sdn Bhd. The five-year contract from March 1, 2013 to Feb 28, 2018 would be provide drilling fluids and barites materials, equipment and services.
