Power ops sale lifts DRB-Hicom profit


PETALING JAYA: DRB-Hicom Bhd's net profit for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2012 jumped a whopping 392% to RM391.47mil from RM79.58mil a year ago, mainly due to the recognition of gains on the disposal of its power business amounting to RM412.55mil.

Its revenue for the period was RM2.78bil, 64% higher than the RM1.69bil in the same quarter a year ago. The basic earnings per share for the quarter increased to 20.25 sen from 4.12 sen.
