Vietnam trade surplus up


HANOI: Vietnam's trade surplus rose to US$777mil in January, the customs department said in a report, or nearly four times an initial government estimate of US$200mil.

Exports last month jumped about 55% from January 2012 to US$11.47bil and imports rose roughly 54% to US$10.69bil, the department, run by the Finance Ministry, said in its January report, seen by Reuters. - Reuters
