Malaysia's December exports down 5.8% on-year to RM57.27b

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's exports fell 5.8% to RM57.27bil in December 2012 from a year ago, the weakest since August's exports of RM55.97bil.

The Statistics Department said on Friday that imports declined 6.5% to RM49.03bil from a year ago, mainly due to decrease in imports of intermediate goods which fell 16%.

Malaysia's total trade in December 2012 was valued at RM106.30bil compared with RM113.21bil a year ago.
