A lift for hospitality and retail sectors

THE last couple of days saw the formal entry of Harrods Hotel and the Four Seasons Place into Kuala Lumpur. Last year saw the entry of Banyan Tree brand. These three brands, together with other unique competitors entering the market, “will lift the game” for the hospitality and retail industry, says property consultancy DTZ Nawawi Tie Leung.

Says its executive director Brian Koh: “These brands are unique and will bring with them their own clientele. They create new demand and do not necessarily mean they will take away customers from other players.”
